Collection: Allegrini
The Fumane winery is located in the middle of the Valpolicella Classico district and although it was only built in 1854, the Allegrini family has been producing wine in Veneto for 400 years.
Knowledge of and love for wine has been passed down from generation to generation, each of which has influenced wine production.
Giovanni Allegrini in particular, until his death in 1983, helped revolutionize the way wine was grown, with a new method of tying up the vines (the Guyot method), prioritizing the best grape varieties (especially Corvina) and denser planting, combined with lower harvest yields - the recipe for concentrated and complex wines.
Today, it is the 6th generation of the Allegrini family that carries on the legacy - Marilisa and Franco, who have both inherited their father Giovanni Allegrini's great passion and love for wine.
In 2001, Allegrini made Tuscan wine production much more interesting when the family took over the Poggio al Tesoro vineyard in Bolgheri and later in 2006, San Polo from Montalcino also joined the portfolio.
Allegrini is still headquartered in the middle of Valpolicella and continues to produce some of the most acclaimed Valpolicella, Amarone, Bolgheri and Montalcino wines.
That Allegrini is a wine house in the absolute elite is emphasized by the numerous awards and great reviews the house has received over many years.
- Allegrini has achieved the maximum '3 glasses' a whopping 34 times in the wine bible Gambero Rosso!
- Allegrini's Amarone is the Amarone that has won '3 glasses' the most times - of ALL Amarone wines!
