Let me tell you about the Zweigelt grape - Austria's most sought-after red wine grape. It was "invented" by Dr. Zweigelt in 1922 by crossing the juicy Blaufränkisch fruit with the structured St. Laurent. Our grapes come primarily from organically grown vineyards around Tattendorf, where the warm, mineral soil provides red grapes such as Pinot Noir, Zweigelt and St. Laurent with perfect conditions.

After destemming and gently crushing the grapes, they undergo a short, cool skin maceration in steel tanks to optimize color, aroma and flavor. After fermentation, we transfer the wine to large wooden barrels, where it matures for 10 months and develops wonderful complexity.

Our Zweigelt has a seductive aroma of red berries with a touch of spice. The taste is full and harmonious with a fresh minerality that gives it an extra dimension. Serve it cooler than a typical red wine, at around 16 degrees. It goes perfectly with pork, lamb, veal, game birds, pasta and risotto dishes.
