Plantation XO 20 Years Anniversary Rum

Created to celebrate Alexandre Ferrand's 20th anniversary at Plantation, this XO rum is a blend of column and pot distillates from Barbados, aged for 18 months in cognac barrels.

The nose is bold with slightly smoky notes and hints of petroleum and Blue Cheese. The complex bouquet continues with intriguing notes of Five Spice, sun lotion (!), galangal and roses.

The richness continues in the mouth where Plantation XO is very full-bodied and quite sweet. There are notes of coconut, apricot and blackcurrant and as it opens up it becomes fuller and darker in taste.

The heavy sweetness and pronounced fruity coconut make XO an obvious choice as the main ingredient in an Old Fashioned - or enjoy it neat when you want to treat yourself.
