Stauning Kaos Triple Malt Whisky

Basically, everything Stauning does, crammed into one bottle. A little smoke, a little spice and lots of complexity in a broadly applicable New Nordic Whisky.

An extremely versatile whisky: For the full undiluted experience, drink it neat as a Scotch malt, add ice for a bourbon/rye style or use it to spice up your whisky-based classic cocktail with a Nordic chaotic twist.

A blend created from our three single malts:

• Stauning No-Smoke Single Malt
• Stauning Malted Rye
• Stauning Smoked Single Malt

• Brewed with local rye and barley
• Malted on the floor of the distillery
• Double distilled in small pot stills heated over an open fire
• Matured in both new American oak barrels and 1st Fill Maker's Mark barrels
• Unfiltered (sediment may be present)
• 100% handmade at the distillery from pure local ingredients
• ABV: 46%

Tasting notes
Lightly smoky, spicy and sweet. A whisky with complexity and structure. On the nose, grain, chocolate, oak, caramel and cinnamon. On the palate, a smoky chocolate bar with nougat, caramel, liquorice, apple and oak. A long smoky finish with hints of vanilla and dried red fruits.

A versatile whiskey: Drink it neat for a full, undiluted experience. Add some ice for a more bourbon-like experience or use it for a luxurious take on a classic whiskey-based cocktail.

Worth knowing
The name Kaos is naturally inspired by recent Danish history. Thorvald Stauning (1873-1943) was, as you know, Denmark's first social democratic prime minister and is considered the father of our modern welfare state. For the 1935 general election, he used the famous slogan “Stauning or Kaos”. At that time, the Danes chose Stauning, but you don't have to choose. We give you both Stauning and Kaos by blending our best rye and our best smoked whisky in a wonderful partnership.
