"ELEGANCE FROM BORDEAUX AT A REASONABLE PRICE"

Deep, elegant and wonderfully intense with beautiful impressions of blackberry and blackcurrant in the aroma. Add to this the wine's beautiful fullness with fine hints of oak, spices, dark chocolate, leather and tobacco. Truly a great wine at a very reasonable price.

Crisp and classic Bordeaux wines. Château du Pierrail is situated on a rocky outcrop overlooking a valley where the Fonchotte River meanders through the landscape. The small river flows up to the property and flows into a three-hectare lake, which is located in the forest in the middle of the lands owned by Château du Pierrail. The Fonchotte runs along the vineyard from southwest to northeast. This gives the vines a southeasterly exposure, which gives the best results, as they receive the rays of the early morning sun and the temperature rises earlier. The vineyards at Château Pierrail extend over the best exposed slopes. The yield is limited in the pursuit of the absolute best quality of the grapes and therefore the best wine.

Pierrail comes from the ancient de Segur family. The castle dates back to the 17th century and is built in clean lines with a classical design and a facade flanked by two towers. It was previously the site of an old medieval castle. From 1782 and for more than a century, the castle was owned by the Barons de Brianson, whose portraits as cavalrymen still hang in the main hall of the castle.

The Demonchaux family does not hide the fact that the ambitions for Château Pierrail are very high, so they continuously invest in new vinification equipment, as well as experimenting with new cultivation and production techniques. Château Pierrail produces four different wines: A red wine made from the classic Bordeaux grape varieties Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Two white wines with the same grape composition (Sauvignon Blanc, Sauvignon Gris and Sémillon), where the house's Cuvée Prestige has been barrel-aged, while the regular - and unusually delightfully crisp - white is taken directly from steel tanks to bottle. Finally, a small amount of rosé wine is produced from equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Enjoy them in the world's best red wine glass or white wine glass from Riedel.
