Another excellent Guyanese rum from Plantation in the 'Under the Sea' series – this time distilled in 2007 (including on the legendary Port Mourant pot still) and bottled in 2022 after 15 years of aging.
The first 13 were aged in tropical climates in bourbon barrels, and the last 2 in continental climates in French barrels as is customary at Plantation. It is bottled at 51% alcohol, and has no added sugar or coloring.
A great addition to the series of limited editions nicknamed Under the Sea.
Color: Amber.
Scent: Big and intense scent with notes of freshly baked bread, cocoa, vanilla bean and lime peel.
Tasting note: In the mouth the rum is full and oily, with good Guyanese power and notes of raisins, tobacco, nuts (hazelnut and almond) and a touch of orange peel. The aftertaste is long and characterized by dark, roasted notes: molasses, leather and something almost smoky.
Serving suggestion : A rum that should be enjoyed neat.
Alcohol: 51%
