Collection: Cascina Ballarin Piedmont

In true Italian tradition, Cascina Ballarinet is a family business, where now 3 generations of the Viberti family (the fourth is also in place) have succeeded each other since its establishment in 1928.

As is often the custom in the Piedmont countryside, people give each other nicknames and Giovanni Viberti, who started the winery, was called “ballarin” because he was always ready to dance at the many festivals in the area. His farm was therefore named “Cascina Ballarin” (“Dancer’s Vineyard”), and he is also the inspiration behind the dancing couple depicted on the labels.

Today, it is the brothers Giorgio and Giovanni (the younger one…) Viberti who run the winery and the approx. 7.5 ha. vineyards, but all members of the family participate in the daily work on the property in La Morra.

Some of their plots are among the absolute best in the area – for example the properties in Bussia, Bricco Rocca and Giuli, which almost have the status of “Grand Cru” fields. In addition, the vines on some of these plots are over 50 years old, so the basis for producing top quality does not get much better.
