Collection: Cells Piñol
The Celler Piñol winery is located in Batea in Terra Alta, and although traces of wine production have been found on the property since the Middle Ages, it was not until the 20th century that the Piñol family began to be recognized for their wines. Especially after the current winemaker Juanjo Piñol was given responsibility for the cultivation and wine production, things have progressed.
Today, they grow wine on approximately 75 hectares of vineyards and have the most modern equipment for producing quality wines. At Celler Piñol, they believe in organic methods and therefore cultivate their own fields according to organic principles. In the longer term (approximately 5 years), they will also switch to organic cultivation on the fields that they do not own, so that they will be able to declare all wines as organic (compared to only one today).
Although the outer stone walls are built in the classic Spanish medieval style, the cellars at Celler Piñol are equipped with everything you could want to make top wines. Juanjo Piñol is a believer in separate vinification, both in terms of plots and grape varieties, in order to highlight the specific climate of each plot and the typical characteristics of the grape varieties. This way, wines with great personality and character can be obtained.
Several wines from Celler Piñol have achieved top international awards.
