Close to the Mediterranean Sea lies the Valley of Roses, which has given its name to the family-owned winery Montrose, which is located at the top of the slope leading down to the valley.

Here, Bernard Coste and his son, Olivier, grow wine as their family has done since 1701, when the coat of arms with the 3 lizards was granted to the Coste family by the French king, and the vineyard was founded.

Montrose currently has 85 hectares of vineyards, where clay, lime, volcanic ash and the small, round 'galets' stones define the vineyard's flavour profile. This gives plenty of terroir and character to the exciting rosé and white wines from Montrose, which we would not hesitate to call some of the best for the price we have tasted in a long time.
