Domaine Remi Jobard has been working according to organic principles since 1996, and as a consequence has exclusively produced certified organic wines since 2011.
Remi Jobard has owned fields in Mersault since the 16th century, and today he produces large, harmonious and very balanced white wines, which we would not hesitate to call some of the best white Burgundies we have tasted.
In the production, barrels from Austrian Stockinger are used, both ordinary "piéce" (228 liters), but also the very large "foudres" (3000 liters). At Stockinger , the wood for the barrels is dried for 3 years, compared to the usual 1.5 years. At the same time, they are heated for a long time, but at a low temperature, which ensures that the barrels do not add any artificial, toasted flavor to the wine. The very large barrels help to make the wines harmonious and preserve the distinctive features that white Burgundies from Mersault should have.
