Krug is one of the most prestigious houses in Champagne and known as the Rolls Royce of champagne. Founded in 1843, Krug has been synonymous with exceptional quality from the beginning.
The exclusive Champagnes from Krug are highly sought after and among fans of the brand, the so-called "Krugists", are Ernest Hemingway, John Le Carré and Naomi Campbell. Krug produces approximately 450,000 bottles per year, which is less than 1 percent of the total production from the Champagne region.
Today, Krug is owned by the LVMH consortium, which is behind Louis Vuitton, Hennessy and Moët & Chandon, but the Krug family still puts its clear quality stamp on the wines and thus Krug's director today, Olivier Krug, is the 6th generation of the family dynasty.
