The long-closed "Lost Distilleries" of Scotch whisky have achieved legendary status in recent years.

When the economic downturn and rising unemployment in 1980s Scotland was at its most depressing, one of the consequences was unfortunately that many distilleries had to close down.

No one had the imagination at the time to imagine how widespread and loved Single Malt Whisky would become later.
The great interest in Single Malts has meant that the remaining stocks from the closed distilleries have become highly valued again. Primarily Gordon & MacPhail is responsible for many bottlings, which are of course becoming fewer and fewer - this is Whisky that will not come again.
So many years have passed that they are all fully matured and very drinkable, although for many it will be an even better investment to just keep them - they will only increase in value!
