Zacapa Rome

For many, Zacapa rum is their first introduction to Premium Rum - i.e. rum of the highest quality - and with good reason; Zacapa in the familiar bottle with the "belly belt" of braided palm leaves is both tasty and internationally recognized as one of the world's best rums.

Ron Zacapa comes from Guatemala and is made in the small town in eastern Guatemala that also gave the rum its name: Zacapa.
Here you will find a unique sweetness that is characteristic compared to other types of rum. Zacapa is not made with molasses, as almost all other rums are, but with cane honey, which is the liquid that comes out of the first pressing of the sugar cane - which also makes Zacapa a slightly sweeter rum than the others.

Zacapa is aged under very special conditions; 2300 meters above sea level, the rum barrels are stored in the “house above the clouds.” Here, the temperature is low and the air is thin, which slows down the aging process and thus allows for more flavor nuances.

Zacapa is aged in Sherry and American bourbon barrels according to the Solera system - here rums from many different vintages are mixed, where all are allowed to pass through the different barrels, which gives the rum its unique flavor character.

In her work for Ron Zacapa, Lorena Vazquez has been awarded numerous awards at spirit competitions as one of the world's most accomplished Master Blenders. Zacapa rum itself was also the first rum in the world to be inducted into the International Rum Festival's Hall of Fame.
