Unique single-vineyard Barbaresco - only 710 bottles produced!
This Barbaresco comes from the Cru Pora vineyard, next to the Asili vineyard near the Ca' del Baio vineyard itself. The vineyard is located at an altitude of about 250 m above sea level and faces west. The soil consists mainly of lime and gray-blue marl. The vines on Pora were planted in 1980, and only from 2004 did the wine begin to be vinified separately.
Fermentation lasts for approx. 15 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with a prior skin maceration. The wine is then matured for 24-30 months in 3-year-old barriques and finally at least 10 months in bottle before the wine is sent to the market.
Barbarsco “Pora” offers a wealth of exciting nuances. The aroma of the wine is incredibly deep with notes of plums, dark cherries and blackberries. The taste is very deep, from the first bite to the aftertaste. Here you will find a velvety character of dark berries, a bit of licorice and a little vanilla, which reveals the long stay in barrels. It is a very harmonious wine that also has great cellaring potential. It will be suitable for most meat dishes with veal, beef and game but also for not too ripe white or red mold cheeses. Serve in large glasses.
