Citadel Gin

Citadelle Gin is something as unusual as a gin from the Cognac area - produced by the Cognac house Maison Ferrand, which also makes Plantation rum.

The cognac regulations state that distillation is not allowed between April and October. The head of Maison Ferrand, Alexandre Gabriel, worked for a long time to be allowed to use this downtime to produce gin, and in 1996 the committee gave in and the gin Citadelle was born, created according to a recipe from the 18th century and named after a fortress near Dunkirk where genever was produced in the old days.

Scent: Super fresh and elegant scent of juniper, violets and lemon.

Tasting notes: Crisp and harmonious with notes of orange peel, coriander seeds and cardamom.

Serving suggestion: An ideal gin for G&Ts. Maison Ferrand suggests 1 part Citadelle to 3 parts tonic and a garnish of fresh lemon zest, preferably accompanied by oysters from Charente…
