Dalva Colheita 1986 Port Wine

Tawny Port from 1985. This wine is aged in wooden barrels from the harvest until bottling. The aroma offers notes of vanilla, honey and dried fruits. The taste is round and complex with a touch of jam, nuts, cinnamon and coffee, but always with a fresh and very elegant finish. There are also characteristic, slightly fermented nuances that highlight the wine's aging process.

Dalva has been through a fantastic process over the last many years. Their port wines have only gotten better and better - at the same time they have a fantastic stock of tawnies and white ports from the last century. The house's declared ambition is to belong to the super league in Porto and the last decades have shown that this goal is moving closer and closer, while prices (thanks to an ailing Portuguese economy) are kept to a minimum. Dalva is, in short, an unadulterated best buy house today.
