Dalva White Colheita 2007 Port

Amber-coloured super wine from the fantastic 2007 Port vintage. José Manuel Sousa Soares has conjured up a bomb of candied mandarin, bitter almond and fresh pine resin, which even after ten years has a terrific freshness. Brilliant for desserts with apple or caramel, but also with a piece of cheese.

Dalva has been through a fantastic process over the last many years. Their port wines have only gotten better and better – at the same time they have a fantastic stock of tawnies and white ports from the last century. The house's stated ambition is to belong to the super league in Porto and the last decades have shown that this goal is moving closer and closer, while prices (thanks to an ailing Portuguese economy) are kept to a minimum. Dalva is, in short, an unadulterated best buy house today.
