The house of Deutz & Geldermann was founded by William Deutz and Pierre Geldermann in 1838 in the town of Aÿ in Champagne.

William Deutz and Pierre Geldermann set out from the start a line where quality was the primary concern, a line that has since been followed up by the current director André Lallier, great-grandson of William Deutz. Thus, since the founding of the "Syndicat des Grandes Marques de Champagne" in 1882, Deutz has been an active member of this exclusive organization consisting of the 20 best houses, renowned for their quality in both France and the rest of the world, where luxury champagnes are enjoyed. All wines are produced with the greatest care. For example, all champagnes are produced exclusively from must from the first pressing. The house of Deutz refuses to introduce mass production methods, considering them incompatible with the traditional craftsmanship necessary for the production of great champagnes.
