Full-bodied, rural Pinot with depth and charm
From the clayey soils of Savigny-lès-Beaune comes this juicy and characterful Pinot Noir. The wine has a deep cherry red color, aromas of ripe red berries and a slightly peppery edge. The taste is full-bodied but balanced - with ultra-pure fruit and a rustic elegance that makes it a textbook example of true country Burgundy.
Chapuis ages the wine for 18 months in French barrels – but only 10% are new, allowing the character of the grape and the expression of the terroir to shine. A wine with charm, nerve and lots of Burgundy identity.
170 years of wine history in the Côte de Beaune
The Chapuis family has been making wine since 1850, when Pierre Pavelot bought 1.6 hectares on the Charlemagne field. His daughter married Antoine Chapuis, and thus began the long history of a wine family in Burgundy.
Today, the 6th generation, Claire and Pierre Chapuis, are slowly taking over the responsibility – in close collaboration with their parents Maurice and Anne-Marie. The family owns a total of 11 hectares in the Côte de Beaune, divided between both Pinot Noir and two small plots of Chardonnay.
Respect for nature and tradition
Although Chapuis is not certified organic, they work with great care and responsibility. Their HVE3 certification (High Environmental Value) commits to high biodiversity, minimal use of pesticides and sustainable solutions in the field and cellar.
