Pierre Amiot's Les Ruchots field in the eastern part of Morey-Saint-Denis has provided grapes for this lovely Premier Cru Burgundy.

Ready to drink now, but that would almost be a shame as this wine will undergo fantastic development over the next 5-7 years.

The red berries with jammy aromas that dominate the nose are reflected in the full-bodied taste, which is concentrated, full-bodied and round. A great Burgundy that demands a large glass and preferably a good aeration for an hour or so before serving.

The wine is made from grapes from the Les Ruchots field. The average age of the vines is 55 years and the field faces east-southeast, at an altitude of 260 meters above sea level. The soil consists of limestone, marl and red sand. The field is protected from the cold winds and has its own microclimate that accelerates the ripening of the grapes. The vines produce many small grapes that enhance the balance of the wine.

The vineyard is only 1.3 hectares, resulting in a limited production of 2,500 bottles of Les Ruchots Bourgogne. So you'll need to be out early if you want to secure this Burgundy for the collection!

Great care has been taken to preserve the terroir of the field, the wine is gently aged for 18 months in 33% new oak barrels.

Serve this Burgundy at 14-16 degrees in large glasses with grilled meat or when it has been aged for a few years, as a cheeky alternative, along with a chocolate dessert - and enjoy it with good friends.
