"Mocha and dark chocolate in the aroma. Nice concentration with blackberries, spices and vanilla notes in the taste. A beautiful and well-made Ribera del Duero with great intensity and length."
The wine is intensely cherry in colour and has a complex nose with red fruits, licorice and discreet notes from the barrel ageing. In the mouth the wine is full-bodied and balanced with soft, rounded tannins and a nice length.
Pure Tempranillo from vines between 25 and 55 years old - aged in barrels for 12 months. Classic intense cherry color and a complex nose with red fruits, licorice and discreet notes from the barrel aging. Soft, rounded tannins and a nice length.
Until the end of the 90s, Bodegas Garcia Figuero supplied its sought-after grapes to Alejandro Fernandez from the top house Pesquera. The age of the vines, between 40-80 years, provided an exceptionally good base for producing extremely high quality (a full 25 ha of the estate's holdings are over 60 years old). But the leap into creating great wines himself was too exciting for winemaker José Maria Garcia to pass up. With this, Bodegas Garcia Figuero became a reality, and since then the winery has been riding a wave of success.
