Graffetta Hyspa - Sicily

What happens when three classic Bordeaux grapes take Syrah in hand and travel to Sicily? Pure magic in a bottle! Graffetta has taken inspiration from Bordeaux and a touch of the Super Tuscans and put together their own blend, where grapes, climate and soil together create a wine that Dionysus himself would be proud of.

Graffettas has a mere 22 hectares of sun-baked fields in Sicily and close to the sea. Here, the climatic conditions are perfect for growing not only local grapes such as Nero D'Avola, but also international grapes in particular.

Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc love to bask in the sun and develop lovely notes of dark, ripe berries, green pepper and sage as a distinctive body. Syrah and Petit Verdot contribute pepper, tobacco, forest floor and fresher red berries. The finish is fruit-driven with very elegant tannins. Half of the wine is aged in large 900-liter tonneaux barrels for 6 months, while the remainder is aged in steel to maintain elasticity and youthfulness.
