The grapes for this Estate Sauvignon Blanc are sourced from the Wairau and Waihopai Valleys, where the subsoil is mainly composed of pebbles, clay and sand, which gives wines with a particularly elegant and mineral character, which is exactly what you want to find in a Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough. The grapes are pressed immediately after the harvest, which takes place at night and in the early morning hours, and the must is fermented in temperature-controlled steel tanks. To preserve the freshness of the wine and the aromatic character of the grape, the wine is aged only in steel tanks.
The wine has a glossy, light golden color with green highlights, and the aroma reveals aromatic nuances of grass, gooseberries, lime, passion fruit and white wild flowers. The taste reveals nuances of melon and tropical fruits, as well as a minerality that gives the wine an incredible balance between dryness and fruitiness. The wine finishes very elegantly and fresh. Serve it with fish, shellfish, pasta, poultry or veal. Also try it as an aperitif or with asparagus.
