We are delighted to present the newest addition to Plantation's Signature Blends series: Isle of Fiji! We have long been huge fans of the rum from South Pacific Distillery in Fiji, and Plantation's version hits all the right notes, while a nice sweetness (16 grams of sugar per liter) makes it easy to use, even for beginners.
The rum is made up of components distilled in both pot stills and Coffey stills, and it is first aged in bourbon barrels, before receiving Plantation's characteristic "finish" in cognac barrels. It all comes together incredibly well, and we must once again prove that this totally underrated distillery gives most of its Caribbean competitors a fight to the finish.
Color: Deep amber color.
Fragrance: Fruity and spicy, "funky" - but not quite as wild as Jamaica. Notes of honey, molasses, raisins, ginger, banana and pineapple.
Tasting notes: The taste is full and sweet. Nice oily mouthfeel, again with notes of ginger, warm spices and molasses, hints of smoke and then this slender backbone of tropical fruit: mango, pineapple and orange.
Serving suggestions: Can be enjoyed neat or in cocktails.
Alcohol: 40%
