Plantation Xaymaca is a true Jamaican pot still rum, with plenty of rum nerds’ beloved “funk” or “hogo” – the classic, powerful Jamaican flavor of overripe bananas, old rubber bands, diesel and brown, sour, fermented pineapple. Does that sound strange? Wait until you try it!
The blend itself is composed of rums from two distilleries, Clarendon and Long Pond. The rum is distilled exclusively in pot stills and has no added sugar.
Color: Amber
Fragrance: Funky! All the ultra-classic Jamaican notes of overripe banana and grilled pineapple, plus a hint of diesel and smoke.
Tasting notes: Although the rum has no added sugar, it is not completely without sweetness. The taste includes allspice, orange blossom, apricot and a sour element.
Serving suggestions: Can be enjoyed neat and is perfect for tiki cocktails like mai tais or, for example, Smuggler's Cove's version of a Planter's Punch :
3 cl fresh lime juice
2 cl demerara sugar syrup
1 cl Allspice Dram
9 cl Plantation Xaymaca
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Blend with ice. Garnish with mint.
