Planteray PXXO 20th Anniversary PX Sherry Finish Rum

It can be difficult to improve on something that is already perfect… but not impossible! Planteray XO 20th Anniversary Rum has been one of the most sought-after rums in the world for many years, and now the Planteray team has further developed this iconic recipe. The new version is called PXXO, and as the name suggests, they have added barrel aging in Pedro Ximenez casks, a sweet type of sherry, to the blend, giving an extra dimension to the flavor.

The rum is distilled at the West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados, in both pot stills and column stills. It is a blend of “extra old rums,” which are aged in a variety of casks: new casks, bourbon casks and Ferrand cognac casks – first in tropical conditions and then in France. Finally, the maturation is completed in sherry casks, which adds the final finesse.

Color: Mahogany.
Scent: A sweet and spicy scent of coconut and vanilla, with notes of honey, English Christmas cake, tobacco and ripe banana.
Tasting notes: Full-bodied, sweet and well-balanced taste. Nuances of coconut, chocolate, prunes and coffee dominate the taste.

Serving suggestion: Should be enjoyed neat to appreciate the full flavor experience.
