"Full-bodied nose with prominent barrel notes of toast, vanilla caramel, baking spices and creamy lees. You will find distinct aromas of pear and apricot, along with an expected, slightly oxidized scent of almond shells. Furthermore, the wine is tropical in style, where you get associations with well-made barrel-aged Mâconnais or Californian Chardonnay."
Buttery, tropical and elegant. Old-fashioned white burgundy from Rioja! Viura and white grenache pair in this wine that delivers intensity, complexity and richness. A bottle for big meals.
Luis Valentín and Carmen Enciso are the dogma couple of Rioja. The goal is to create the essence of Rioja from the sun, the clay soil and the high-altitude fields. They have bought small plots of land around the heart of Rioja and only go for the oldest vines of +60 years. Everything is grown organically and all wines are fermented in cement tanks and some of them are aged in small French, lightly toasted oak barrels. These are incredibly complex and unmistakably Rioja-true wines that are shipped from the farm.
