Discover Vincent d'Astrée Champagne Premier Cru Extra-Brut – a pearl among champagnes.

This Extras brut Champagne is created with care and dedication, from the manual harvesting of the grapes to the delicate vinification in thermoregulated stainless steel tanks. The brilliant golden color enchants the eye, and the subtle dosage of 3 g/L adds a sense of perfection to the dry, fresh wine.

A harmonious blend of Chardonnay and Meunier grapes gives this champagne its distinctive profile. A rich and inviting aroma of dried white flowers and pear notes elegantly mingles with subtle notes of toasted hazelnuts and bread. The palate is a lively symphony, structured with notes of candied fruit that gradually blend with delicate floral notes on the finish.
After a minimum aging of 5 years in the historic cellars of the vineyard, the result is a champagne of exceptional quality that balances the freshness of youth with the potential to develop depth and complexity over time.

The Pinot Meunier grape, with its characteristic fresh and juicy fruit notes of apples, pears and subtle floral nuances, adds a lively freshness and a gentle acidity to the champagne. In combination with the fresh, mineral Chardonnay, the harmonious and well-balanced character is created that makes Vincent d'Astrée Champagne Premier Cru Extra-Brut an irresistible wine experience.

About 150 km from Paris, in the middle of the Champagne region, we find the town of Pierry, where Vincent d'Astrée Champagne is located. The town is not much bigger than a hamlet, and does not have much more than 1,200 inhabitants. A fact that has nothing to do with the quality of the Champagne, as the capable hands of the cellar master, Sébastien Lapierre, turn the finest champagnes you could wish for. Champagnes that are true to the terroir and history of the area. Vincent d'Astrée was founded in 1956 by a number of winegrowers - a so-called cooperative - who dreamed of producing the most distinguished wine together. A dream that we here, more than 65 years later, are enjoying. The winery is supplied with grapes (Pinot Meunier, Pinot Noir and Charonnay) from the Coteaux Sud d'Epernay and the Premier Cru part of Pierry. At Vincent d'Astrée, sustainable principles are followed and the winery is dedicated to continuously improving year after year. Among their latest initiatives are that they now only use lightweight bottles, recycle their wastewater &, for example, use excess material from the production of their cork stoppers in the production of insulation material.

Reviews of Vincent d'Astree Extra Brut Champagne

93 points Houlbergs Vinblog
In terms of aroma, Assemblage Extra Brut is more rural and animalic than its less dry younger sister. The fruit is even a little more tropical with peach, apricot, pineapple and pears, complemented by toast, nuts, pretzels and dried flowers. There is still a good effervescence and otherwise the taste is more austere with unripe green apples, quince, grilled lemons and candied lemon, but overall a dense and citric acidity, which with a chalky minerality makes the wine sharp, precise and fresh ... more people were more into this than the previous less dry younger sister, but I think the level here is roughly the same, so 93 points.

Wonderful aroma of citrus, chalk, apple cores, rye bread, a little toasted almonds and yeast. Pure and clean on the palate with a nice acidity and a slight bitterness in the aftertaste. On the way to being crunchy, boney and with small lively barbs, but it stays nicely on the right side of the edge.

Classy and composed honeyed aromas with notes of stone fruits and patisserie. Savory on the palate, with a mineral finish.

90 points Wine manual
Delicate nose with quince, ripe Granny Smith apple and lemon. In addition, you can sense milk chocolate, blueberries and a rural florality of daisies and chamomile. The minerality is high and refreshing with oyster shells and lime. Very fresh and elegant expression with nicely balanced autolysis of brioche and ethanol from crushed apples. On the palette you get refreshing Granny Smith apples, electric lemon and almond shell. The taste is very monotonous, but in a sexy way, where the ethanol taste of crushed apples dominates more than the autolysis. The wine is dry with moderate body and alcohol as well as high acidity and a foamy mousse with gentle bubbles. The very low dosage creates a slightly too thin experience right now. It suits a Meunier-dominated Champagne to have a little dosage, which compliments the stronger style. Should therefore be stored for a few years, to create more depth and oxidative characters.
