Collection: Johanneshof Reinisch

The Reinisch family has been producing wine in the Thermen region for 4 generations, located near the picturesque village of Tattendorf, about 30 km south of Vienna. Their journey began humbly in 1923 with a small plot of 0.5 ha in the Ried Mitterfeld vineyard. Since then, the property has expanded to a total of 40 ha and extends around the villages of Tattendorf, Gumpoldskirchen and Guntramsdorf. These three locations provide different terroirs that allow for the cultivation of different grape varieties. Red grapes such as Pinot Noir, St. Laurent, Zweigelt and Merlot, among others, make up the majority (65%) of their production, while the white wines are based on local grapes such as Rotgipfler and Zierfandler, as well as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

In 1995, Johann Reinish, one of Austria's most well-known wine personalities and father of the three brothers, Hannes, Michael and Christian, built the "Johanneshof" winery.

"Johanneshof" is equipped with both traditional and modern winemaking facilities, which, together with the family's many years of experience and the good quality of the surrounding vineyards, allow for the production of excellent wines. They use both stainless steel tanks and wooden barrels for fermentation and/or maturation. The wood for their oak barrels comes mainly from the Vienna Woods south of Vienna, and the winery dries the barrels for 3-4 years before using them.

Johanneshof Reinisch has been officially certified as an organic wine producer since 2014. Their practices, combined with their extensive knowledge and passion for wine, have made them one of Austria's leading wine producers. Today, the winery is ranked by many wine experts and wine guides among the elite of Austrian wine producers.
